Deer Cove Association Wants More Moorings

Ossipee — June 14, 2004 — The Office of Energy and Planning and the Department of Safety, Division of Safety Services, will hold a public hearing on June 15th at the Tri-County Community Action Program building, 448 White Mountain Highway (Route 16) in Tamworth, to consider a Congregate Mooring Field Expansion request by Deer Cove Condominium Association.

According to the application, the Association wants to increase its boat moorings by nearly 80%, from 19 to 34. The current number of moorings was authorized by the state in May, 1999, in an application that states the Association’s shorefront as 383’.

This is the second application this year by an association on the big lake to increase its boat moorings. In March, Pine Landing Beach Club, Inc., which is directly across the lake from Deer Cove, filed an application to increase its moorings from 39 to 45. A written decision on that application is still pending.

The application by the Deer Cove Condominium Association will be held open until Friday, June 25th, for written comments to be submitted to Benjamin Frost, Senior Planner, NH Office of Energy and Planning, 57 Regional Drive, Suite 3, Concord, NH 03301; and David Barrett, Director of Safety Services, 31 Dock Rd.; Guilford, NH 03246.
