Fox Attack Reported in Freedom

Ossipee — August 16, 2012 — On Friday, Aug. 10, at approximately 7:39 a.m., the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, along with  Freedom Police Department and Madison Police Departments  responded to a report of a couple being bit by a fox on Flintlock Lane in Freedom. According to County Sheriff Lieutenant Michael Santuccio, responding officers learned that while out walking  their dog the couple was attacked by the fox.

Upon locating the fox responding officers were also attacked. Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brian King was forced to dispatch the fox. The fox has been turned over to NH Fish and Game and the NH Public Health Lab for a rabies investigation.
