Freedom–May 5, 2014–The reported lake level remains high vs. the plan for this time of the year. The level is scheduled to be at 406’ by the first of May, but the reported level this year is almost 407’. All because of the heavy snow layer from last winter and a few rainy days the last two weeks.

Both north and south side dams remain completely open. I had a response from Dan at the State Dam Bureau last week stating that the full drawdown will continue until the level is below the north side spillway. This will allow for a safe installation of the stanchions and first layers of stop logs.

No heavy rain is predicted, so I expect the north side can be closed-up by mid-May. Full summer level of 407.25’ is scheduled for the first of June.
