Alliance Lands Patagonia Intern

Freedom—June 17, 2019—Ossipee Lake Alliance will have an intern this summer thanks to Patagonia, the environmentally-oriented outdoor clothing giant based in Ventura, California.

Liz O’Donnell will be joining the lake organization from mid-July to mid-August to direct a range of initiatives, including increasing the organization’s reach and enhancing its digital media.

O’Donnell has worked for Patagonia for eight years, and is currently an Environmental Activism Associate, overseeing an environmental grants program and coordinating employee activism at the retail store level. She is based in Reno, Nevada.

Patagonia’s Liz O’Donnell has family ties to Danforth Pond. She will be an intern for Ossipee Lake Alliance this summer.

No stranger to the lake, O’Donnell has a family home on Danforth Pond, a place she said inspired her love of the outdoors and led her to Patagonia, which has made its brand synonymous with corporate environmental responsibility and activism.

Patagonia’s internship program encourages employees to take a paid leave of absence to work for an environmental non-profit organization for up to two months. Additionally, it annually donates a minimum of 1% of its sales to support grassroots organizations worldwide.

O’Donnell will be first business intern to work for Ossipee Lake Alliance since its founding in 2003. As a 501c3 non-profit corporation, the organization relies entirely on volunteers for its staff and board of directors.
