Freedom — November 8, 2006 — In election results reported by the Conway Daily Sun, Sandwich Democrats Howard Cunningham and Virginia Heard have beaten Ossipee Republican incumbents David Babson and Mark McConkey as District 3 State Representatives.

Harry Merrow survived the wave of change that swept the District yesterday and won another term as a State Rep, while his fellow Ossipee Selectman Peter Olkkola won a seat on the County Commission. State Senator Joe Kenney beat challenger George Cleveland by a small margin.

In Concord, Governor John Lynch won re-election by a huge margin, while fellow Democrats Carol Shea-Porter and Paul Hodes won over long-time incumbents Jeb Bradley and Charles Bass.
