State Will Drop Water Level to 406′ Starting September 15
Dam officials hope the lower level will increase the likelihood that they can complete this year’s work on the new dam, which was delayed by funding issues. Boaters and marinas understand the thinking, but are frustrated about the short notice.
Work on the Ossipee River Dam Will Finally Begin
Proposed in 2009 and repeatedly delayed by state funding constraints, the $4.96 million dam replacement project is set to start on Monday, August 5, with Massachusetts-based Charter Contracting Company LLC performing the work.
